Project Description

Reconstruction and adaptive reuse of the “Vitezović House” into a contemporary community center in Vrbnik, aimed at revitalizing the area and creating a cultural and social hub that showcases the heritage of Vrbnik and the island of Krk.

The program includes multifunctional spaces with supporting facilities, a presentation and exhibition center, community workspaces, and technical areas. The building is designed to allow flexible and independent use of different functional zones, with multiple access points and clear circulation.

Special emphasis is placed on accessibility, including elevator access, as well as on integrating the building into the existing urban fabric. The architectural approach balances preservation with contemporary interventions, particularly on the entrance façade and public square interface.

The surrounding landscape is conceived as an extension of the public realm, creating a sequence of open and semi-open spaces that enhance usability and social interaction.
